The idea behind this video is to show people interested in buying HDR software what the features of Photomatix Pro 4.2.6 are, and also people who have owned previous versions of Photomatix what the latest version looks like and if there are any new features that might make it worth upgrading for.
I give an overview of the menu’s and workflow shortcuts, tonemapping of a single image and set of images, plus the new presets & colour, contrast and sharpening adjustments.
What I like about Photomatix as a HDR program compared to others is mostly about the look I can achieve. Each software program uses its own algorithm to interpret the data from your camera files and that’s what gives the variety in looks between the different programs. As the technology advances many of the programs start to offer similar features which can attract various users but the look is something that can’t be easily achieved by competitors.
