I think HDR was the perfect choice of photography to capture the modern bullet trains of Japan because it’s a fusion of modern art with modern science & technology. Through HDR methods and techniques we can best represent some of the attributes these trains stand for like- modern, futuristic, development, first world, movement, evolution and time. I shot this HDR through a gap in the rail whilst it glided by.

During my stay in Japan I had an unlimited pass to travel on the rail system and this included the “shinkansen” which travel up to 320km/hr. I had a wonderful time on these trains zipping all over the country and this is shot at the station in Kyoto, Japan.

To create this image I used the HDR software Photomatix PRO 5– If you end up buying Photomatix 5, use the code LukeZemePhotography, at checkout to get 15% off all Photomatix software.
