Nothing like grabbing your camera and heading to the coast! I recently moved to the inner west of Sydney from the Bondi beaches area and making it to the coastline is that much more rewarding. My destination was narrabeen and a couple of the northern beaches, they didn’t disappoint.
Sydney’s Northern Beaches have some of the most picturesque ocean pools in Australia, if not the world as well. Narrabeen’s pool is one of my favourites because it has this wooden walking platform that is suspended above the waters surface. Its an experience in itself to walk around on this thing, not mention jumping into the water from it 😉 There is lots to explore along this coastline and some of it is really unique! Like channels carved into the stone that cause mini blow hole effects when waves crash into them, or giant solitary stones on the beach. I try to share and make them look as spectactular as I can in the moments when my breath is taken away.

My HDR Tutorial:
Shooting this image was a little tricky because it was into the sun so I bracketed the shots and then combined them in Photomatix PRO 5. This is how I am able to get full detail in the highlights and the shadows. I then use On1 Photo 10 Suite to add all the cool stylisation to the image.
