The Sydney Opera House celebrated its 40th Anniversary with their Royal Highnesses, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary of Denmark as official Patrons of the celebrations.

I’m the ripe old age of 34, so the opera house has always been around in my life time, but it’s funny though because I imagine it being much much older than 40 for this very reason.

I wanted to celebrate the occasion with an image of my own which summed up what the Sydney Opera House is all about- Sailing and being a integral part of life on the Harbour. The crop and composition brings focus to these realisations and helps to reminds us what she is all about. To those who don’t know the architect Jorn Utzon was replicating the wind in the sails of a ship at sea. When I was younger I used to think that the shapes reminded me of sea shells, the types you hold your ear up to and can hear the sound of the ocean 🙂
