This part of Sydney is absolutely stunning during the day but at night it transforms into a scene of dazzling lights and sounds. The city planner was a smart cookie because they built this walkway, which runs for kilometres, by the harbours edge for people to wander and indeed wonder ! I’d come out here to Lavender Bay to try and find this location I’d seen a photo and found a few cute locations for photographing the city from this side of the Harbour.
I wandered past Luna Park, also known as Coney Island, with the sounds of the roller coaster and other riders in the background this shot was taken right next to the Milson’s Point Ferry Terminal. This HDR image was actually shot with my new Sony RX 100 ii and I had it on a tripod, which does look kind of cute ! but more importantly the sony RX 100 ii doesnt have a view finder, but instead the image is displayed on the big 3 inch LCD screen on the back of the camera and this inherently makes me concentrate more on compositions. I think the leading lines of the raised concrete seats on the left, the foot path and then that of the Sydney Harbour Bridge all work amazingly well in this image. I find if I look down towards where the couple is walking that the rest of the image becomes so much more interesting to me, if that makes sense.
