This gorgeous sunset over sydney harbour was the calm after the storm. The Sydney Harbour Bridge created a stunning silhouette in front of the dramatic sky. Sydney was hit with a severe storm cell that brought snow, thunder and lightning as well as flash flooding. Just before this shot was taken I took a sydney ferry directly through the storm and popped out on the other side to witness this sunset that lit up the sky. As I sat under my umbrella with my camera tripod nestled in the rocks beside the ocean, the rain drops made soothing sounds as they made spirals and patterns in the surface of the sea water. I think what I liked most amount the moment was the diverse range of light in the scene before me from the city lights in the CBD and on the opera house on the left to the warm rainbow colours in the sky. I got soaked in an effort to capture this image, but I think the results were well worth it and it has turned out to be one of my favourite images I’ve captures in Sydney so far.
