An ongoing project of mine is to visit local beaches and try to capture their beauty in timeless moments like this…. The ocean tide rushing in and out… a rising sun… This concept of us remaining still whilst the world changes around us is something the camera can capture so well. Bronte Beach provided the backdrop for such themes this time and it’s this interplay of static and dynamic objects within this frame which draws the viewer’s eye into the composition. A strong man-made concrete wall brings us in from the right, held up by a natural rocky platform. A series of stoic rocks scatter the foreground reflecting the warm morning sun, whilst the relentless ocean moves in and out around them. Surfers litter the skyline chasing that one dream wave… Sydney awakens to a new day!
