I got the most amazing view from the bow of a Sydney ferry as we surged into a severe storm. The storm front was wrapped across the sky and a small sail boat was riding the wind blasting out of it. We bounced across the water and headed directly into it, our destination Circular Quay. You can see the Sydney CBD skyline in the left of frame as well as the Harbour Bridge. Soon after this shot the sky lit up with thunder and lightning and we got drenched in torrential rain. After the ferry ride I headed over to Milsons Point to witness a beautiful sunset over the city on the backend of the storm.

How was this image created?

This is a single exposure image shot on a Sony A7r and it was then edited in Lightroom. I used a dramatic preset and then took the image into photoshop for further development. Whilst in there I used Luminance Masks as well as OnOne Photosuite
