Today my new camera arrived, the Sony RX 100 II. It’s a brand new compact camera from Sony with a Carl Zeiss lens and it was released last week and can be purchased in Australia for around $900. I took it down the Bay in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney Harbour at sunset to trial out the Auto-bracketing on 0.7EV increments. Holding the camera in my hands took me back to what photography is all about and I felt so inspired again. There’s something exciting about holding the 1129k screen out in front of you and composing images. It allows you to be looking at the landscape and the camera at the same time, as apposed to when you are looking through the viewfinder of a DSLR it is all you can see. The Carl Zeiss lens on the camera works beautifully and the autofocus is extremely quick.
Making images on this camera is going to be a joy and happy to share just one of the amazing shots I got down on the water this afternoon. This part of Sydney is Double Bay and it also has a private beach area which I explored with the RX 100 mk 2. Happy to share my first HDR from the Camera. Editing was done using
