This sunrise is from one of Sydney’s famous beaches “Bronte Beach“. I was standing above the rocks as a couple of surfers were out catching the waves that rolled in from the Pacific Ocean. They must have been having the time of their lives, surfing on liquid gold. Out on the Headland you can see some houses that get this magical view 24/7 all year round, so jealous!
Spring in Sydney is a wonderful time to do seascape photography and I’m hoping to share many more images of its famous beaches. Some of the more popular ones include Manly, Bondi, Palm, Whale and Clovelly Beach.
So watch this space for many more Sydney seascape images this summer!
The bulk of the editing on this image was done using OnOne Photosuite where I can do everything from stylising the image to resizing it ready for printing.

I shot a series of images on my Sony A7r so that I could use HDR “Luminance Masks” editing techniques. If you are after some really comprehensive video tutorials on the technique check out Jimmy Mcintyres tutorials. The power in Luminance masks lies in your ability to control the light in the shadows and highlights as you can see my image here.
