This morning was one of those mornings… like stepping into a dream… a surrealist painting… a Dali… unbelievable!
I was one of 4 photographers that I saw furiously capturing the sunrise at Bronte Beach in Sydneys east. just a few hours ago. I began capturing photos up at the pools and worked my way down to the this spot on the sand. I found this lovely little circular pool where the water would rush in and around this rock and back out to sea. It created such a strong composition that I waited for the right wave to come through to capture this shot. The way the rocks kind of pop out of the sand and water one at a time as our eye moves down the beach reminded me of digging up dinosaurs bones! Hence the title of the image “Bronte-Saurus”.
The waves today were perfect too with 3 to 4 footers peeling in off the shelf. There were about 5 guys surfing out there having the time of their lives and who could blame them. To me the ocean looked like a metallic surface that had caught on fire, it was truly inspirational. More and more I am drawn to the ocean to shoot images and can feel my passion for them growing day by day. I know its not like this every morning so I make sure I take advantage of it when I can.
