Brisbane City was named after the river it sits on, which, in turn was named after Scotsman Sir Thomas Brisbane, the Governor of New South Wales from 1821 to 1825.

Well what better significant Brisbane landmark to base an artwork on when producing an image based on Brisbane than it’s river. To get to this vantage point I had to head east out of the city, to the suburb of Hamilton. It is slightly elevated above the river and it’s residents are blessed with this vista everyday. At night it twinkles like a christmas tree offering a completely different experience.

There’s a lot about this image which I think represents not just Brisbane but also the Queensland and Australian Lifestyle on the water.
