Dubai is a MEGA city and has some amazing places to explore. The jewel of Dubai witout a doubt is the Burj Khalifa tower, the tallest building in the world, the needle like structure seen in the right of the image. This was shot from 25 stories up over looking the city rising to a wonderful warm sunrise. It had always been on my bucket list to visit Dubai and I would love to return one day.
I was lucky enough to stay in the Dusit Thani hotel with an incredible view looking over the Burj Khalifa. At one point the hotel staff, who went above and beyond for me, took me on the roof which was a matter of climbing many ladders to get to the pinnacle of the building. Shooting during summer time in Dubai is difficult due to the soaring temperatures, 37C at night and 46C in the day. The humidity will fog up your camera lens within seconds and so it’s preferable to shoot from indoors through glass. Even then though the buildings will be dripping with moisture at various times of the day due to the humidity, so you have to time your shots. I’d love to return in the peak season one year to shoot Dubai again when I can shoot at all times of the day and not worry about the moisture.
