The one thing I love, amongst many, in Japan is the variety of food and drink available in the country.

In Japan these vending machines are everywhere and I‚Äôm a little guilty of putting too much money into them ūüôā but I wanted to experience as much as I could whilst there. This particular one was glowing brightly on a cobble stone path on a historic walk to Kiyomizu Temple. I came back to visit the area again at night when all the crowds had gone home to rest and take in the area when it was nice and quiet. I much prefer taking in a space when its not loud and shoulder to shoulder. These drinks stations are heaven whilst you hike up and down the mountain.

I have heard of some pretty odd things being for sale (underwear being one) in these but I mostly found food and drinks. I got addicted to these double black coffees in the mornings (they are in the left machine bottome right), haha, because they gave you such a jolt (Alright Luke its time to work !). Just looking at these brings back so many memories and I’m glad I stopped to take a HDR bracket of them…

How did I make this ?

I used a Nikon D800 + Nikkor 14-24mm on a tripod and shot a 1EV 5 shot bracket to get this image. I then used photomatix and On1’s Perfect Effects¬†Filters to get this Effect.
